Stichting Oranje Jasmijn
The overall target is to create sustainable growth in the Tunisian rural regions. This through development of unit based Public-Private-Producer-Partnerships in value chains: Unit Development Agriculture projects for Social Economic Transition or UDA-SET. The project aims to create 5000 sustainable jobs for unemployed youth, both men and women, with entrepreneurial potential in agricultural and craft projects.
The project will be open for smallholder farmers to participate (UPA’s). The demonstration phase is planned to be carried out in the governorates Kasserine, Le Kef, Gafsa, Jendouba, Tozeur, Kairouen, Zagouen and Sidi-Bouzid.
It will result in exploiting semi-arid and agricultural land, boost the agricultural sector in selected regions and make a livelihood for thousands of families. After the pilot the project will expand to all provinces creating over 20000 sustainable direct jobs in the rural region.
